Workshop on Field Robotics Jointly organized by the Robotics Society

Robots find widespread applications in industries like medical, agriculture, defense, transportation, surveillance, etc. With the increase in applications of robots, the field of robotics has taken greater strides in the past two decades. One specific area, which has gained the attention of the community, is Field Robotics. May it be quadruped, drones or underwater robots. The workshop will emphasize on bringing forward various problems and research opportunities in the area. It will focus on the following sub-areas of Field Robotics:

1. Underwater Robots

2. Space Robots

3. Quadruped Robots

4. Agriculture Robots

5. Warfield Robots

6. UAV Robots

The workshop will have talks in the above areas by eminent speakers from academia, industry, and R&D organization. It is also aimed to have a poster session which will provide an opportunity to the concluded with a panel discussion on opportunities in Field Robotics by experts.

The Institute is committed to technological thought and action to benefit the economic development of India. Scholarship in teaching and learning; Scholarship in research and creative accomplishments; and relevance to Industry are three driving forces for us at IIT Jodhpur.

IIT Jodhpur functions from its sprawling residential Permanent Campus of 852 acres on National Highway 65, north-northwest of Jodhpur towards Nagaur. This campus is meticulously planned and envisioned to stand as a symbol of academics – simple, but deep.

The Institute is committed to multidisciplinary approach of technology development. Hence, it has established state-of-the-art laboratories for basic research, and has organised its academic degree activities through Departments and its coordinated research through Centers for Technologies.

About IDRP

Preamble
Inter-Disciplinary Reserch Platforms (IDRPs) are aimed at multi-di  sciplinary initiatives for problems requiring an integrated approach through the fusion of knowledge from multiple fields. The Inter-disciplinary Research Platforms have been established at IIT Jodhpur to facilitate multi-disciplinary fusion leading to the establishment of truly transdisciplinary academic Centres

Objectives of the IDRP (Inter-disciplinary Research Platform):
1. To create a supportive environment to pursue interdisciplinary research in the contemporary areas of innovation and research
2. To develop eco-systems for competitive and cutting edge research
3. To encourage innovation and technology development in inter-disciplinary fields
4. To initiate Ph.D and Post-doctoral research programmes in inter-disciplinary areas
5. To establish partnerships with relevant industries and research organisations in areas of mutual interest.
